Department Of English

The history of the Department of English begins along with the inception of the college, since the study of the English language was mandatory for students of all degree programmes. The Department started the undergraduate degree programme in English Language in 2004 owing to popular demand. In addition, the department teaches Communication Skills in English at the First Year level, and Mass Communication. The department conducts bridge course for one week in order to strengthen the 1st year students in basic grammar and compositions. This intensive grammar course helps the fresher’s to reduce their flaws in English language.

• Mould students to fit into positions that the job market requires.
• Enable the students to communicate effectively and efficiently.
• Create awareness of the rising status of the English language in the global scenario.
• Provide platforms of encouragement for curricular and co-curricular activities.
